Community Supported Agriculture CSA

At Honey Brook Farm, we grow a wide variety of vegetables directly for our customers. Our CSA subscription is an easy way to reserve a weekly share of delicious, locally grown chemical-free vegetables for the entire 2009 season! We also have available outside the CSA program, free range, government inspected, organic chicken, turkey, pork and lamb. We also offer goat cheese ( feta, chevre, brie), eggs, honey and artisan bread freshly baked in our brick ovens.

COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE (CSA)

Community supported agriculture, or CSA works by cutting out the middle man and partnering you directly with your farmer. First you buy a share of the harvest for the annual growing season, Then, once a week, from mid June to mid October, you collect your harvest box of absolutely fresh produce at the farmers market summer location.

We grow over 40 different crops, and several types of each, for a well-rounded, healthy veggie selection every week. Popular basics include tomatoes, potatoes, corn, lettuce, peas, beans, spinach, melons, squash, strawberries, raspberries, rhubarb and onions. We also grow unusual and specialty items, like gourmet salad blends, heirloom varieties, fresh herbs and flowers.

Our idea of "organic" means farming the "old- fashioned" way with feet on the ground! Your vegetables are raised in hand-tended beds, without synthetic chemical fertilizers and pestisides. The soil in our gardens are carefully maintained and crops are rotated yearly. We grow several varieties of each crop to adapt to the local climate.
